What is Dimethyl Carbonate?
Dimethyl Carbonate (DMC) is a colorless, fast evaporating, mild non-offensive odor VOC exempt solvent with a wide range of applications. It is used in the manufacturing of lithium-ion batteries, production of polycarbonates, lubricants, polyurethanes, cleaning and degreasing solvents, construction materials such as paints and adhesives, fuel additives, and in biodiesel production.
Dimethyl Carbonate (DMC) is also considered a green reagent. It is used as a methylating and carbonylating reagent in organic synthesis.
