SMC Global (SMC) produces several popular phosphorus based flame retardants for use in textile manufacturing.

Our Tetrakis Hydroxymethyl Phosphonium Sulfate (THPS), THPS Urea Pre-condensate (THPS-UPC), Tetrakis Hydroxymethyl Phosphonium Chloride (THPC), and THPC Urea Pre-condensate (THPC-UPC) are the durable flame retardants of choice for cotton workwear.

Our SMC 688 and SMC 688-T are Cyclic Phosphonates, the durable flame retardants of choice for polyester and polyester blended fabrics.

We also offer a variety of phosphorus derivatives that are used in the textile industry. These include

  • Polyphosphoric Acid

  • Dimethyl Methyl Phosphonate, DMMP

  • Tributoxyethyl Phosphate, TBEP

  • Triethyl Phosphate

  • Ammonium Polyphosphate, APP
