EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT: MICHAEL HERNANDEZ

Michael Hernandez has been an essential part of SMC Global for nearly six years, playing a key role in managing inventory transactions at the San Angelo operations. He began his journey as a CSR/Admin before being promoted to Inventory Control Specialist and now serves as the Inventory Supervisor. His career growth within the company reflects his dedication and strong work ethic.

A typical day for Michael starts in the warehouse, where he oversees and coordinates daily inventory transactions. He then moves to the office to complete batches and ensure that all inventory processes are accurately managed. His favorite part of the job is collaborating with his coworkers, as teamwork plays a significant role in the success of his department. He also enjoys the dynamic nature of the company, noting that no two days are ever the same due to SMC Global’s continuous evolution.

Looking ahead, Michael is excited to see the growth of the new ICC division and the opportunities it will bring. Outside of work, he enjoys playing basketball, softball, and poker, as well as spending quality time with his family. A lifelong sports fan, he once dreamed of being a point guard for the Lakers and has a bucket list goal of attending a game at all 30 MLB stadiums—he’s set to visit his ninth stadium this summer. If given a superpower, he would choose time travel, and he hopes to one day learn to play a musical instrument.
