In this exciting Employee Spotlight, we are shining the light on Jason De La Cruz, who has been a rockstar at SMC Global for the past seven years! Jason’s journey began as an intern, where he jumped in to help with logistics and tackled tasks in different departments. His drive and versatility quickly led him to a role as an Administrative Assistant in Domestic Logistics, and from there, he took on even more by handling International Logistics and managing the ISO Tank business. Now, as a Supply Chain Analyst, Jason works closely with third-party warehouses, keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes.
Jason’s typical day starts with tackling emails and taking care of anything urgent, before diving into reports and meetings. One of his proudest moments was helping to negotiate better freight rates with FedEx—a huge win that cut costs and strengthened SMC Global’s partnership with them!
When it comes to describing SMC Global, Jason sums it up perfectly: Motivating, Collaborative, and Innovation. These three words capture the company’s dynamic energy and the exciting environment he’s been a part of. Before joining SMC, Jason had a pretty unique job as a Peer Tutor at Berkeley College. While he loved helping students, some tried to push their luck by asking him to do their homework—but Jason stayed focused on doing things the right way!
Outside of work, Jason is all about sports, especially baseball and basketball. Lately, spending time at the park with his daughter Mia Isabella has been a highlight, and nothing makes him happier than family time. His wife Baylerins and his daughter are his biggest motivators, and he couldn’t imagine life without them. Growing up, Jason dreamed of following in his father’s footsteps as a civil engineer, and one of his bucket list goals is to visit the beautiful island of Santorini, Greece.
Jason’s journey at SMC Global is filled with hard work, growth, and a love for his family. We are thrilled to have him on our team and can’t wait to see what amazing things he will do next!
