Patricia (Trish) Sgromolo has been a cornerstone of SMC Global for over seven years, celebrating eight years this February. As an Executive Assistant and Project Coordinator, Trish wears many hats, supporting a diverse team and ensuring the seamless flow of operations. With her multitasking prowess and problem-solving skills, Trish embodies the title of “superhero” to those she supports daily.
Her role spans many responsibilities, including administrative support for the leadership team, Kevin Huber, Adam Feldman, Jay Lovetere, and their groups, IT triage as a liaison to Integris, strategic planning, event coordination, and more. “It’s hard to summarize what I do,” Trish shares with a smile. “Think of me as the glue that holds everything together. Like Liam Neeson in Taken, I’ve acquired a very particular set of skills that make me an unstoppable force at SMC.”
When Trish joined the company in 2017, she began as an HR Administrator and Project Coordinator. Over time, her responsibilities expanded to include supporting the entire Commercial Team with travel planning, RFPs, and offsite events. She has also been instrumental in major projects, such as migrating to O365 and Teams, and spearheaded the ongoing development of the SMC intranet site.
For Trish, the most rewarding aspect of her job is the people. “I love working with Kevin and everyone at SMC Global. It’s a supportive, motivating, and collaborative environment, and we always manage to have fun—even on the busiest days.”
Trish’s childhood dream was to become a Radio City Rockette, showcasing her passion for movement and creativity. Though life took her in a different direction, she still channels that same energy into her role at SMC. One hobby she wishes she had time to learn is knitting, a craft that would allow her to express her creativity differently.
One thing Trish cannot live without is her family and coffee—a duo that fuels her both personally and professionally. She takes immense pride in her accomplished children: Nicole, an orthopedic surgeon at Walter Reed in Bethesda, MD, and Merrill III, who holds an MBA and is currently pursuing his CPA certification.
Outside of work, Trish is a proud grandmother who loves spending time with her grandchildren—Mia, 7 years old; Lewis, 19 months; and baby Clark, expected to arrive on January 23, 2025. She also adores her three fur babies: Thomas Jefferson (TJ), a lovable Westie Poo; Maggie Mae, her spirited Yorkie; and Arya, the Golden Doodle of many faces. She enjoys camping and kayaking at Otter Lake in the Poconos and has a surprising passion for cheerleading. Having coached for over 25 years at the Pop-Warner level, Trish takes pride in seeing her students succeed, with two even becoming professional cheerleaders for the Eagles and Ravens.
In her downtime, you’ll find Trish binge-watching Outlander or Landman and dreaming of her ultimate bucket list goal: traveling the U.S. in an RV with her husband Merrill and her pets, exploring historic landmarks and natural wonders.
As for what’s next, Trish is excited to continue supporting Team SMC with her unique blend of humor, dedication, and expertise. “I’m looking forward to being the super ninja admin they need every day!”
