EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT: PRISCILLA S. BOWMAN

Meet Priscilla S. Bowman, our dedicated Buyer whose journey at SMC began seven years ago. Starting as a Customer Service Representative and Sales Assistant, she quickly transitioned into the Buyer role, where she’s made a lasting impact on our operations.

Priscilla’s role as a Buyer goes beyond purchasing; she collaborates with cross-functional teams, including planning, logistics, and customer service, to ensure seamless procurement processes. Her focus on sourcing top-quality materials, fostering strong supplier partnerships, and staying ahead of industry trends is fundamental to delivering the reliable, high-quality chemical products SMC Global is known for.

Transitioning into the Buyer position wasn’t without its challenges, but with determination and the mentorship of our company’s Founder & COO, Kevin Huber, Priscilla embraced a sharp learning curve. Her dedication to growth and innovation continues to evolve with each passing year, shaping her into the invaluable team member she is today.

One of Priscilla’s standout contributions is leading a quality inspection project for new suppliers, products, and packaging. By collaborating with the Warehouse Teams and Quality Control department, she ensures compliance with material specifications and industry regulations. Her efforts have significantly improved shipment quality and have created a culture of continuous improvement.

Outside of work, Priscilla finds joy in gardening, plant collecting, DIY home projects, and camping. A foodie at heart, she loves exploring new cuisines through travel. Giving back to the community is a priority for her, whether it’s volunteering at animal shelters or participating in Rotary Club activities.

Fun facts about Priscilla include her childhood dream of working with animals as a Veterinarian or running an animal sanctuary. She’s excited to try paddleboarding this summer and treasures her family, her husband James, and their beloved dogs, Yoshi and Cubby. On her bucket list? Soaking in Iceland’s Blue Lagoon.
