KANSAS CITY, KANSAS | March 8, 2024 / – SMC Global, a US-based global manufacturer and distributor of high-quality chemical products, recently acquired a half-mile stretch of railway from Union Pacific in the Fairfax District of Kansas City, Kansas. Currently, SMC Global is in the process of assessing the optimal utilization of this property. The purchased tracks run directly behind SMC Global’s Kansas City facility and will require upgrades in the near future.

Kevin Huber, Founder and COO states that “SMC Global has made significant investments in controlling our international supply chain by getting our own NVOCC license and building a significant ISO container fleet. Now we are investing in our US infrastructure to be able to both ship and received rail cars. This strategy is in line with our vision to develop our relationship with US producers and customers who prefer rail service”.

SMC Global continues to be in growth mode and is actively seeking opportunities to develop business with companies who have interest in contract manufacturing, chemical transloading and/or packaging in this region.
