Lars Schuster has been appointed Director Logistics of SMC Global effective August 1st, 2021. He will lead the transportation and logistics team, assist in the development of a stronger supply chain network, manage procurement, and build vendor relationships.
Lars Schuster will report to Founder, EVP and CCO Kevin Huber and collaborate across the organization supporting and implementing logistics strategies for SMC Global’s in-house resources and fleet assets.
This senior staff appointment comes following the recent announcement of SMC Global’s investment in an ISO tank fleet in an effort to ensure continuity of supply from oversea partners. “We are very excited to add Lars Schuster to our supply chain team. He brings the necessary expertise to help us build the infrastructure needed to support the company’s strategic plan of ensuring continuity of supply to our customers and our commitment to a long term solution to today’s supply chain challenges,” SMC Global Founder, EVP and CCO Kevin Huber said.
Lars Schuster has extensive experience at solving complex procurement and logistics challenges, having held senior roles at VTG Tanktainer, one of the world’s largest providers of logistics services for chemical products. His last position there was working as an executive vice-president of VTG Tanktainer North America leading a business development team and strengthening VTG’s sales and operations network in the region.
