EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT: Sharon Bunch

Since joining SMC Global in 2011, Sharon Bunch has worn many hats and done so with diligence and heart. From her start with the company, Sharon quickly distinguished herself through her desire to learn and grow. Her commitment didn’t go unnoticed, and she soon transitioned into a new role, expanding her expertise and responsibilities across both regulatory and operations.

In her dual role today, Sharon ensures the company remains compliant with key regulatory agencies including the EPA, and DOJ. She also plays a critical part in operations support, handling logistics billing and auditing to ensure timely, accurate processes. Every day brings something new, and that’s exactly what she loves most about her job: the diversity keeps her on her toes and constantly learning.

Among her proudest accomplishments are earning her NACD (National Association of Chemical Distributors) and Management of Change certifications, both of which required hours of challenging coursework and a strong commitment to professional development.

What makes working at SMC special for Sharon is the freedom to grow. “Not every company gives you the opportunity to expand your interests. Here, I’ve always been encouraged to spread my wings.”

Three words she uses to describe SMC Global: Diligence, Commitment, and Integrity.

Outside of work, Sharon’s love for reading takes center stage. It’s her favorite way to unwind, and she cherishes every chance to dive into a good book. She’s also actively involved in her church community, where she offers counseling and support to others. It might come as a surprise to some, but despite her role as a counselor, Sharon describes herself as shy. Still, her commitment to uplifting others always shines through.

Faith plays a central role in Sharon’s life. She credits her strength and resilience to her relationship with God, and she’s never shy about giving credit where it’s due. “Everything I am, everything I’ve been through, I know I couldn’t have done it without God,” she shares.

When it comes to future dreams, Sharon hopes to travel to Europe, London, specifically. And she’s determined to make that dream a reality by the end of this year. A few apps she can’t live without? YouTube, her gym’s app, and Amazon.

And one fun fact: Sharon once dreamed of becoming a nurse, until she realized she hadn’t quite grasped what the job really involved. But her heart for helping others remains a guiding force in all she does.

Sharon’s daughter is her pride and joy, and it’s clear that both at work and at home, Sharon leads with love, strength, and a true passion for service.
